You may have thought about switching to eating organic food, but you couldn’t find recipes that were 100% organic that appealed to you. At Pure Flavor®, we have developed several delicious recipes that call for all organic ingredients! Now we have enlisted the help of some of our influencers, like Amber from A Toasted Crumb, to hack their favorite recipes and turn them into organic ones. Using our Organic Juno® Bites Red Grape Tomatoes, Amber created this incredible Organic Bruschetta Burger.
One thing these past 18 months has taught us is to never take our health for granted. People are searching for ways to improve their overall health and wellness, and it can be as simple as looking at what you are eating and making some changes. Incorporating more vegetables into your diet is one way to improve your health, but you can level that up by eating your favorite veggies in their organic form.
A common misconception about organic food is that it’s plain and simple, with no exciting flavors or appealing recipes. We are here to change that! You can take any of your favorite recipes and convert them into organic by swapping conventional ingredients with organic ones. If that seems too daunting to you, don’t worry – we have put together 100% organic recipes to help you get started.
With summer in full swing more people are spending time outdoors and grilling their meals. At Pure Flavor®, we have an entire line up of Certified Organic greenhouse grown vegetables that meet the strict USDA guidelines, ensuring that what you buy is truly organic. From snacking on our Organic Sangria® Medley Tomatoes to grilling up some Organic Sweet Bell Peppers, we have something for every taste!
Our friend Amber’s recipe for Organic Bruschetta Burgers is perfect for the BBQ and is full of fresh flavors. She first starts out by making the tomato topping for the burgers so that it has time to let the flavors marinate. She cut our Organic Juno® Bites Red Grape Tomatoes into quarters and, in a large bowl, mixed them together with olive oil, garlic, basil leaves, salt and pepper. Great bruschetta topping doesn’t need to be complicated to be delicious! When you’ve gently mixed these ingredients together, cover the bowl and put it in the fridge while you make the burgers.
You can preheat your grill while you’re seasoning the ground beef to make burger patties. The grill needs to be nice and hot when you drop your burger patties on them, so set it to medium-high heat or about 400° F to get those classic char marks. Put your organic ground beef into a large bowl and season it with garlic powder, minced onion, thyme, salt, and pepper. Since this recipe is really about the incredible flavors from the bruschetta topping, you’ll want to focus on a good classic seasoning for the patties. You don’t want to take away from that delicious tomato taste! Mix the seasoning into the ground beef with your hands and then gently separate the meat into four evenly sized balls. Press them into patties with your hands, or a patty press, if you have one.
Before you put the burgers on the grill, you should prepare your ciabatta buns, so they are ready to go. Split them down the middle, gently rub each side with a clove of garlic and brush them with a little olive oil.
Time to grill! Depending on how you like your burgers done, cooking times will vary. Amber has given us some helpful tips for cooking burgers to your liking:
- Medium-Rare (red in the middle, 130°-135° F internal temperature): 3 minutes each side.
- Medium (pink in the middle, 140°-145° F internal temperature): 3 to 4 minutes each side.
- Medium-Well (a bit of pink in the middle, 150°-155° F internal temperature): 4 to 6 minutes each side.
- Well-Done (no pink, 160° F internal temperature): 8 to 10 minutes each side
When your burgers are done to your liking, add the thick slices of mozzarella on top and let them melt just a little. Then toast your buns on the top rack of your grill, or over indirect heat, to give them a little golden crust.
To assemble your burgers, start with the bottom of a ciabatta bun, add a few basil leaves, then add the patty, spoon on as much of the bruschetta topping as you’d like and drizzle a little balsamic glaze. Place the top of the ciabatta bun on the burger and it’s ready to enjoy!
